How to Setup your Roku Account
If you are looking for some easy help on your brand new Roku device then you have come to the right place! From creating and registering your Roku account, the update of payment information to channel deletion – read on to find how to kick-start your Roku experience.
CREATE YOUR ROKU ACCOUNT:
A setup guide will appear the first time you switch on your new Roku device. You will be directed to a page where you are required to give your linking code for Roku activation.
This Roku com link code will activate your Roku account.
Navigate to Roku website from a web browser and add the linking code to get started!
REGISTRATION OF YOUR ROKU ACCOUNT:
Once the linked code has been accepted, few registration details will need to be given on their website including Debit or Credit Card or PayPal account information.
However, these can be deleted later from your Roku account. Or alternatively, you could register without payment information using the “skip card info” option.
SETUP OF PIN NUMBER:
A 4 digit pin number has to be added to your Roku Account. This is a necessary step before you begin to add or purchase channels to your Roku Account!
When you want to add or purchase a channel- you will be prompted for the PIN number. However, this is not applicable to free channels in your Roku account except in the case of the usual user login and password details.
HOW TO UPDATE YOUR CARD INFORMATION:
Underpayment information in your account settings- you will have to update all the details of payment method such as the card number, expiration date, security number along with your basic details like your name (first name and the last name), address and contact number.
HOW TO REMOVE YOUR CARD INFORMATION:
If you want to remove your card or PayPal account information- you could get this done under the “Payment Method” in your account settings
By clicking Remove button under payment method- your payment method details will be removed from settings.
IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ADD A PAYMENT METHOD WHILE CREATING ROKU ACCOUNT:
In this case, you are advised to use a different card or use PayPal to check. Sometimes you get a go-ahead without adding your payment information after 5 repeated failed attempts in the initial account set up.
WANT TO REMOVE AND REPLACE A CHANNEL ON YOUR ROKU ACCOUNT?
There are two ways to delete channels, one is getting it done online by signing into your Roku account or by Roku Channel store where you will be able to remove the Roku approved channels (not private channels).
Alternatively, you could remove channels from your Roku Player. This would be a preferred option to remove channels from Roku as too many unwanted channels stored in Roku could make the player slow.
